Application Settings
Open Application Settings from the gear icon on the top toolbar. These are app-wide settings for the locally running app — they affect everything and are not tied to a specific event or project.
Language
Section titled “Language”Choose the app language: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Portuguese (Brazil).
Date & time format
Section titled “Date & time format”Sets how dates and times appear in the UI (calendars, timestamps). The default follows your system regional settings. Switch it if another format is more convenient — for example from a 12-hour (US) clock to 24-hour, or the reverse.
UI theme
Section titled “UI theme”The menu has several theme sets. The default is Dark Purple. If the booth stands in bright sun, switch to a light theme — it’s far more readable in direct light.
App FPS
Section titled “App FPS”Two controls: the FPS limit and an adaptive toggle.
- Higher FPS makes animations smoother, but puts more load on the PC. On a weak machine, set 30; on something like a Surface 8+, 60 runs smoothly.
- Adaptive FPS (on by default) drops the frame rate to 10 when the booth sits idle (nothing happening, no screen changes) for about a minute — a power-saving mode that keeps the hardware from heating up and drawing extra resources.
Screen mode
Section titled “Screen mode”Controls how the menu is laid out on screen:
- Photobooth — the menu is drawn from the center.
- Photobooth mirror — the menu is pinned to the top of the screen.
Show content after processing
Section titled “Show content after processing”When you run a test render (a template test or an AI template test), choose what happens with the result:
- Do nothing — just finish.
- Open the file in a viewer.
- Show in folder — open the containing folder with the file selected.
Volume
Section titled “Volume”Sets the volume for the app’s players: the video player, and the audio player (background music during video recording, or the camera shutter click during a photo), as well as the sound when playing back finished content.
Virtual keyboard in the menu
Section titled “Virtual keyboard in the menu”Booths usually have a touchscreen and no physical keyboard. Enable this and MixUp shows the Windows touch keyboard when you need to type into menu fields.
Capture hotkeys
Section titled “Capture hotkeys”Capture can be controlled with Page Up / Page Down. In admin mode, Page Down activates or deactivates the capture session.
