Spinner

The Spinner is a platform with a rotating arm (a pole) that holds the camera. It spins the camera around a person standing on the platform to film video.

Tip

We recommend running the Spinner in the remote-control mode (the Spinner / Robo-arm option on Start Event) — see Devices.

Connect

The Spinner connects over Bluetooth or USB. Pick the matching connection type in the combo-box (Bluetooth or USB).

USB

USB needs the CP210X USB driver (Silicon Labs CP210x). Download and install it in Windows and confirm it’s installed.

Tip

If you chose USB, the device is definitely plugged in, but the app doesn’t see it — the driver is almost certainly missing. Install the CP210X driver and try again.

Bluetooth

1. Choose Bluetooth and tap Search.
2. For convenience, enable show only compatible devices.
3. Your Spinner should appear in the results (if it’s powered on) — select it.
4. Turn on Enable (you can enable it before selecting too — it doesn’t matter). See Enable, not Connect.

Safety: stop on connection loss (Bluetooth)

Bluetooth can be unstable — for example if the platform is far from the controlling PC, the signal may drop and you’d lose control of the rotation. If a guest is on the platform at that moment, it’s safer to stop.

The stop the platform on connection loss option sends a command to the controller so that, if there’s no active Bluetooth connection, it stops the rotation — letting the guest step off safely. Keep this on for Bluetooth.

Speed

Speed is how fast the arm (with the camera) rotates, from 10% to 100%. Use it to dial the spin faster or slower.

Tip

We recommend not more than 60% — somewhere in the 35–70% range works well.

Acceleration

Many platforms also have an acceleration setting — how quickly the platform ramps the arm from 0 to the set speed (there’s a slider for it).

Tip

Don’t set acceleration too high — around 25–40/50% is a good range so the start isn’t too abrupt. A longer arm puts more load on the motor, so ramping up smoothly lets you use a longer arm without straining it.
