Swivel camera mount

The swivel unit lets you aim the booth camera at the angle you need. Assembly takes about 15 minutes. Work on a soft surface so you don’t scratch the camera body or the parts.

Tools: hex key — included; a PH2 Phillips screwdriver (yours) — for mounting into the column.

Read first

Caution

1. Don’t overtighten the screws. The parts are 3D-printed — excessive force strips the threads.
2. Watch the orientation. The swivel plate and the camera plate fit one way only.
3. Check the camera is locked. Make sure the clamp latch has clicked before lowering the lever.
4. Align first, then tighten. The lens with its shroud must enter the front window without touching the walls.
5. Check the result. After assembly the swivel should be smooth and the camera should hold its angle.

Assembly

1. Assemble the swivel unit

Screw the clamp base to the plate from below and tighten with the hex key — no overtightening.

2. Fit the locking rod

The rod sets the camera locking force. The thread should run easily by hand, without binding.

3. Mount the unit in the column

Slots facing up. Start all the screws, then tighten them crosswise — that seats the plate evenly.

4. Attach the plate to the camera

The 1/4“ screw goes into the tripod socket. The plate mounts ribbed side out, along the body.

5. Fit the shroud on the lens

Pick the shroud that matches your lens and push it on all the way. It covers the gap in the column’s front window.

6. Lock the camera into the clamp

Insert the plate until the latch clicks, then lower the clamp lever. Check that the camera holds.

7. Guide the lens to the window

Adjust the reach so the shroud enters the window centred, without touching the walls.

8. Center the lens on the swivel axis

Use the hex key to adjust the camera height so the optical axis of the lens matches the swivel axis. Otherwise the frame will drift when the mount turns.

9. Check the assembly

Rock the camera gently: no play, smooth swivel, frame centred in the window. Tighten the locking rod.

Done

The mount is ready. Power on the camera, check the frame and aim the swivel at the angle you need.
