GoPro
A GoPro connects to MixUp two ways: over USB or over Wi-Fi. Set the capture speed for the shot, and note that Live View is only available on newer models.
Capture speed
Section titled “Capture speed”Choose the GoPro’s capture speed (frame rate) for how it records. Pick it to match the shot you want before the event.
Live View (GoPro 11 / 12 and newer)
Section titled “Live View (GoPro 11 / 12 and newer)”Live View — the camera preview on the booth screen — is available only on GoPro models 11 and 12 (and newer).
Live View takes a moment to start. If you launch the booth quickly, the GoPro’s Live View may not appear immediately — this is normal. Give it a few seconds to come up.
Connect over USB
Section titled “Connect over USB”To make the GoPro available over USB, install GoPro’s webcam driver first:
- Download the GoPro Webcam app from the official GoPro website — see GoPro’s GoPro Webcam article for install instructions and the download.
- Install it on the booth PC.
- In MixUp, set the connection type to USB — the GoPro is now available as a camera.
Connect over Wi-Fi (recommended: use the pairing wizard)
Section titled “Connect over Wi-Fi (recommended: use the pairing wizard)”For a wireless GoPro, we recommend the Wi-Fi connection wizard, which uses Bluetooth to set everything up for you:
- Pair the camera over Bluetooth first.
- Over Bluetooth, MixUp connects to the camera and reads its Wi-Fi name and password.
- It passes those details automatically into the Wi-Fi connection wizard, which then connects to the camera over Wi-Fi.
You can also enter the Wi-Fi name and password manually in the Wireless Camera Connection settings, but the Bluetooth pairing wizard is easier and less error-prone.
If the GoPro won’t connect
Section titled “If the GoPro won’t connect”- USB: confirm the GoPro Webcam app is installed, then re-select USB as the connection type.
- Wi-Fi: re-run the Bluetooth pairing, keep the camera close and powered, and confirm the Wi-Fi adapter can reach the camera’s network.
- No Live View: check the model is 11/12 or newer, and wait a few seconds after launch for it to come up.
