Outdoor shoots are much easier now that you can set the platform up wirelessly.

Power the platform without mains

If you bought the platform after July 2022, Bluetooth is already installed. If you bought it earlier, we recommend buying and installing the Bluetooth controller. Otherwise, you can connect the platform to the laptop by cable.

For charging the platform outdoors, you can use:

• Option 1 — NECESPOW 100W power bank with an AC outlet
• Option 2 — camping battery with dual 110V/150W AC outlets
• Option 3 — Powkey portable power station (only if you have a black-top platform)

You need a 110/220 V battery with a socket. For the black-top platform, 60 W+; for an LED platform, 125 W+. To fit under the platform, it must be smaller than 22 × 10 × 9 cm (8.6 × 3.9 × 3.5 in).

GoPro ISO for outdoor light

Tip

Set the maximum and minimum ISO to the same value, and no higher than 800, in the GoPro Protune settings. If it’s too bright, set it lower.

Don’t forget that you’ll need to charge your laptop somehow too — you can buy a generator or battery for this.

Extra lighting

If you need additional light sources, we recommend the Yongnuo YN-360 III. You can run it on batteries and control it from our app.

Battery life (energy-saving mode)

• The platform spun for 12 hours (40 000 mAh battery).
• The triangle light worked for 8 hours (20 000 mAh battery).
• The Yongnuo light sources worked for 12 hours (6 600 mAh battery).
