Surveys & Tags

A survey collects information from the guest during a session — a name, an email, a rating, a choice. Each question carries a tag, and those tags let you print the guest’s answer onto the photo or use it elsewhere. Surveys live in the Surveys & Buttons menu (this section covers the surveys part).

Why use surveys

Surveys serve two goals:

• Marketing — collect data about your guests (name, email, phone, choices) to use later, when the client wants it.
• Personalize the content — feed a guest’s answer into the shot via its tag:
  • into a photo template — for example print their name, or build a “baseball card” with their favorite team;
  • into an AI prompt — customize the AI result per guest.

This turns the booth from a plain photo booth into an interactive experience.

Where surveys run

A survey is one of the optional guest data steps in a session (alongside disclaimer, gender, email, payment). You enable it per event — see Run your first session.

Question types

MixUp supports these question types:

• Text — a free-text answer.
• Email — an email address (validated).
• Phone — a phone number (validated; includes a country code).
• Select — pick one option.
• Multi-select — pick several options.
• Yes/No — a boolean.
• Rating — a score.
• Date — a date.

The tag idea

Every question has a tag (a short key). When a guest answers, MixUp stores the answer against that tag for the session. You then reference the tag from a photo template’s User data layer to print the answer on the photo. One survey, many places to reuse each answer.
