Photos & Templates

A photo template defines how a guest’s shot becomes a finished photo: the page size, where the booth photo sits, backgrounds, overlays, text, and print options. Each project has its own Photo template (and, separately, a Video template).

What a template is made of

A template is a stack of layers, drawn bottom to top. MixUp supports these layer types:

  • Background — the base layer behind everything.
  • Content — the placeholder where the booth photo(s) land.
  • Image — a static image (logo, frame, sticker).
  • Overlay — an image drawn on top of the content.
  • Text — fixed text.
  • User data — dynamic values printed from the session: a survey answer (by tag), a signature, date, session ID, filename, or the sharing QR. See Surveys & Tags.
  • Shapes — ellipse, rectangle, line, polygon.

Where templates live

Templates are stored per project under the project’s Photo\Template and Photo\Customization folders. A project’s Photo and Video sides are separate.

  1. Create a template — the Photo menu, and creating from a preset layout or a PNG frame.
  2. Edit a template — the editor: page settings, layers, and layer options.

Printing

Printing has its own section — print options per printer, and how guests print:

  • Print settings — print options per printer, scale/margins, print test, and the paper counter.
  • Printing in the booth — the print button, autoprint, copies, and content priority.
